This cute tile pattern was my entry for Spoonflower’s Delft Tiles contest in December last year. It features symmetrical design with a central flower, butterflies and ornamental swirls, in traditional blue and white.
Blue & White Floral Mandala Tile Pattern
I wasn’t planning to do this challenge, as I had it in my head that I’d need to do a bunch of different designs with more complex, realistic drawings, and I just wasn’t in the mood for that. Then I realised the theme was very open to interpretation, so I decided to enter at the last minute, and go with a relatively simple idea. I began this the morning the challenge closed and finished an hour before the deadline. That was pretty stressful, but I’m happy with the result!
