Art Deco Raven Pattern

Here’s another of the patterns I made last year. This bird design was my first stab at Art Deco style, and was made for Spoonflower’s Art Deco challenge. It features a black stylised raven with outstretched wings, in a golden yellow and black geometric fan layout. It was also my first time using Illustrator after hardly touching it for a few years, so I was pretty rusty!

I was kind of pleased with it, although there’s certainly room for improvement. I do like Art Deco a lot – I’ll always enjoy geometrics – and will no doubt draw some more designs in that style.

I used the green version for the contest, but also made other colour variations. You can see them all on fabric and wallpaper (plus various home decor products) in my Spoonflower shop, along with coordinating solids.
