I made this simple ribbon pattern earlier this year for my Spoonflower store. This is a rare occasion where I decided to make a design based purely on a trending theme in which I have no personal interest. I’m not girly, and this isn’t my kind of thing at all 😀 I quite like how it came out though.
Red Tossed Bows Pattern
I’ve never been into fashion and trends, but since I want my designs to sell, it’s helpful to pay some attention to what people actually want to buy at a given time. But I won’t do more designs where I really have no interest in the topic. My strategy now is to include trending elements in my work if they match what I like an artist, but mostly to focus on evergreen topics.
